Katina Patriquin Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog! Just a little info about me…I was born and raised in South Dakota on the farm! I know what you are thinking right now…”I’ve never met anyone from South Dakota.” Well, you have now and I couldn’t be happier that it’s me!
When my husband and I got married here in Arizona one of the most important decisions I made, other than marrying him, was my wedding photographer!
Our day was filled with overflowing hearts and abundant love and she captured that! After the day was over, I felt the need to feel all those things over again. So, I pick up my wedding present my husband gave me, my camera, and began to shoot. The overwhelming feelings that flooded my heart took me back to the very day I gave mine to my husband. I would be honored to be there to capture that for you.

And just remember {the day may come and go, but your photography will forever be filled with memories, and what we all live for…….love!}

objects of affection…taking it back to the old school:)

So, this is my second installment of my “Objects of Affection” posts and this one is a beauty!

I have been wanting a beach cruiser and today my Husband INSISTED that I have one:)

There is something about cruising along with the wind in your hair and the feeling of innocent and

child like freedom that feels SO good!

I love the color as well!

Check out these white walls…..YEH BABY!!!

And me REALLY enjoying my little stroll!

And me again being the “King of the World!)

Since I always like to share the song I am listening to while I write these posts, I realized how in sync (NO NOT THE BAND…

even though I love you JT) I am with my thoughts and the music I choose to play while blogging.

And yes, I do think of my hubby and our ride together with this song….weather by foot, plane or the occasional Beach Cruiser!

Love you babe, and thanks for giving me a piece of “That Feeling” again!

It will ALWAYS be “You and me together!”

clean puppy … happy mommy

Today my lil baby got a SUPER DUPER cleaning with Lori from Canine Express!

After continued disappointment in a chain store that constantly wanted to nickel and dime me on everything,

I searched for another option. Then I found Canine Express and just tried them today!

It was AWESOME and while my pup was on my driveway being bathed I was working away!

No leaving your dog anymore, no long waits and a perfectly poshed puppy!

Contact Lori from Canine Express and tell her I sent you!

March 3, 2010 - 4:54 pm Gisele - She looks cute and fluffy K!!

To speak, or not to speak………that is the question!

Every since I have started my business and photography blog I have often fought with the question of “HOW MUCH DO I SHARE” with my readers and clients?

First of all I am a HORRIBLE speller, I can’t construct a sentence to save my life and often have a slew of thoughts that roll through my mind that only make sense to me.

But after talking with a few fellow photographers the other night I thought to myself  “I can be judged for my errors, or I can let go and speak about my photography, life and the heart behind these images!”

So this is my formal disclaimer to let you all know that I am not the best speller, I am not always grammatically correct…if ever, I put comma’s in the wrong places (that makes my Husband crazy), I use there instead of their sometimes and the list goes on….but I do have a heart full of love, questions, thoughts and a few answers that I would like to share…so mark this day as a liberation to get to know the girl behind the camera. I may not be full of surprises or excitement, but I do promise you will find a connection on one level or an other:)

This post is the beginning of my “Objections of Affection” section. This last Thursday I attended the monthly PUG meeting which is a group of photographers that use the services of Pictage. We use Pictage for all our online viewing galleries and print orders. This night was special though because the CEO of Pictage, Jim Collins, was the guest speaker. I won’t go into great detail, but he did speak about shooting once in a while some “PERSONAL WORK”. Not only to stay inspired, but to really enjoy our craft.

So not only is this the start of a more personal blog (not too personal though….you really don’t care what I am don’t every second) but it is the start of “Objects of Affection”. (Thanks T:)

The image above is some of the great things in my life….Apple products that help me achieve my dreams and help store others dreams, the rings that represent the vows I took with the love of my life that supports me and of course the pureness of the white image and the sky reflecting in the Apple reminds me of the man upstairs that has made all of these things possible for me. This is an image of dreams, life and Love. What else could a lady ask for? I adore Apple products, Canon for capturing these images, rings that represent a promise and the best thing ever……….HIM!

Love you BP!

my ring…

His ring….yes it is worn and beaten up and last weekend was elbow deep in concrete:( but the scratches and dents are not scars, but marks of growth in our relationship.

It is more sacred to me today than the date it was purchased:)

All together, these images make me smile!

I am going to be posting a few images every so often of my “Objects of Affection”. I hope you enjoy and even though I can’t spell or write well…..thanks for listening!

Shine On~

jennifer & mike….part I

Last Saturday I was honored to capture and be a witness to Jennifer and Mike’s wedding!

These two seriously light the room up with their love and smiles! I adore being around them, which is a good thing since this beautiful wedding was an all day event:)

Since the wedding was a church wedding I have TONS of images to blog hence the Part I and stay tuned for Part II.

The day began at the Xona Resort preparing.

The beautiful bride!

This was her Grandmother’s watch that she wore that day! Beautiful!

A touching moment with her Mother!

I love this shot of her holding her niece, I know she will make an AWESOME Mother!

The flowers were so beautiful and were by Flowers By Jodi.

After a few portraits we were off to the church!

This church was ESPECIALLY awesome, because it is the church I belong to!

St. Patricks Catholic Church is such a beautiful church to attend and to get married in!

The handsome groom watching his bride walk toward him!

This little guy was so good and sat on his Daddy’s lap through the whole ceremony!

The vows

I love catching the emotions from the family and friends. Her mother was holding back the tears!

Flowers to Mary

Her grandmother

The kiss

Husband and Wife

Stay tuned for Part II……..
